Douglas Bain was born in Edinburgh in 1932, educated in Lincolnshire worked in display design directly after school. His subsequent career brought him through merchant banking, retail management and International textile marketing to his retirement in 1991. A widower, with three children and seven grandsons, Douglas now lives in Rosslare. He began painting in 2003 and works in all mediums.

 

Karen Scannell is a native of Wexford. On leaving school she worked for nine years on a dairy farm. For many years Karen was aware that her creativity needed and outlet and an opportunity arose in the form of a PLC Course at Wexford V.E.C., and a change of career beckoned. She followed this with a degree course in Visual Arts at the University of Glamorgan in Wales and achieved her BA (hons) there. She continues to develop her artistic career and exhibits regularly.
